Another day of exploring. I had been told that there was a shut down mill in Saratoga WY, and today went to find it. The person that told me did not know much beyond that. Turns out it is a Louisiana Pacific sawmill, which is not what I expected.

When the sawmill shut down rail traffic ceased. The line is now being torn up for scrap. (Here is one perspective. Here is another.)

The surrounding countryside is beautiful. These snow fences are maintained by the Wyoming Department of Transportation. There are miles and miles of them.
