A 6 or 7 mile hike up Crabtree Falls in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest west of Charlottesville. This is the Tye River.

It had been predicted to be a mostly sunny day, but the weather turned out to be quite gray. No real shadows and very little sun. The temperature was perfect for a hike, especially one with 1500+ feet of climbing.

Here are a few snaps. There are several very tall cascades in this series of falls but I did not shoot any of them since the sky was so dreary.
